Silverstein Eye to hold Pet Goods Drive for Eleventh Hour Rescue

Chester, NJ – For the second year, Silverstein Eye of Chester, NJ will be conducting a holiday collection for the Eleventh Hour Rescue Animal Shelter in Randolph, NJ as part of their “Vision to Lead” program.  Eleventh Hour Rescue is an organization in that literally saves dogs and cats from death row. They are a volunteer-based, non-profit, 501c3 organization. They shelter dogs and cats and also offer them for foster and adoption.

Dr. Niki Silverstein states, “We had a terrific response to this collection last year and wanted to to it again. First, I want to thank everyone that donated last year. This is a wonderful, local organization and they need our help. It is hard to get donations during the year for animals and even harder around the holidays as people’s attentions are focused elsewhere. I want to thank everyone in advance for considering to donate.”
This year Eleventh Hour Rescue is particularly in need of dog food. Stacey Cudnik, EHR Director states, “Even one can of food makes a difference.” They are requesting the following brands of dog food: Merrick, Costco Brand, Blue Buffalo, Honest Kitchen, Organix and Nutrish Grain Free. Dog treats of any kind and brand are welcome. They would also like toys, like busy bones, kongs and squeaky toys.
Ms Cudnik adds, “EHR volunteers appreciate donations because it allows us to make a difference everyday in neglected, abandoned and abused animals lives. Our volunteers will go to the end of the earth to save the dogs and cats that have no chance at life. We help the animals forgotten in basements and left out in the cold to fend for themselves. We give them a new name and a new life, but we need your help.”
A collection box will be placed in the office of Silverstein Eye at 408 Main Street in Chester, NJ. The entrance to the office is in the back of the building. The office is generally open from 9-5 daily but you can call for hours as drop-offs during office hours are preferred. However, if the office is closed please leave the donations in the bin left outside the back entrance. The collection boxes will be available until January 9, so consider donating any excess gifts you may have received during the holidays.
Monetary donations are also welcome. Gift cards to pet supply stores or checks/cash can be given to any employee at Dr. Silverstein’s office in person (we do not suggest leaving any gift cards/checks outside), or you can make a donation on the Eleventh Hour website at www.ehrdogs.org. The mailing address for EHR is P.O Box 218, Rockaway, NJ 07866. For questions on EHR call 973-684-0865.
Dr. Niki adds, “There are also many beautiful needy dogs and cats there needing a home.”
